[Windows 10] Device Guard and Credential Guard hardware readiness tool & écran bleu

Récemment je souhaitais tester la compatibilité matérielle de ma société pour Device Guard et Credential Guard, j'ai donc lancé sur un échantillon représentatif du parc le script fournis par  Microsoft ici pour être sûr de ne pas rencontrer de problème lié à l’incompatibilité matérielle.

[DirectAccess] My transition technologies are gone

On a deployment the DirectAccess connection is not working on a laptop even with all prerequisites (certificate, GPO, Windows 7 Enterprise, ...)

While looking on the network settings none of the transition technologies were listed (ISATAP, 6to4, Teredo et IP-HTTPS).

Lors du déploiement chez un client j'ai constaté que le poste ne montait pas de connexion DirectAccess bien que ce dernier présentait tous les pré-requis (certificat, GPO, Windows 7 Enterprise, ...)

Cependant lors de l'analyse de la configuration réseau vue par l'OS ce dernier ne listait aucun des protocoles de transition (ISATAP, 6to4, Teredo et IP-HTTPS).

Désactiver l'UAC sur Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2

Microsoft vient de publier un article afin d'expliquer comment désactiver l'UAC sous Windows Server 2008 ou 2008 R2. Bien en tendu le fait de désactiver l'UAC fait partie des bonnes pratiques uniquement dans des cas très rare et sous certaines conditions tels que :

• Seul les administrateurs peuvent s'y connecter en mode console ou en bureau distant
• Les administrateurs s'y connectent uniquement pour y effectuer des tâches d'administration

Disabling UAC on Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2

Microsoft published a how to for disabling UAC on Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2. Of course disabling UAC is a best practice and recommended only on certain circumstances like:

• Only administrators could access to the server on a console or remote desktop connection
• The administrator open a session only for administrative tasks

[Service Pack 1] Windows 7 & Windows 2008 R2

Microsoft a publié hier pour les abonnées MSDN/Technet le service Pack 1 pour Windows 7 ainsi que pour Windows 2008 R2.

Parmi les nouveautés majeures on peut noter :

• Dynamic memory : cette fonctionnalité est plus liée à Hyper-V R2. Cette dernière permet de modifier dynamiquement à chaud la mémoire vive allouée à une machine virtuelle sans interruption de service.
• RemoteFX : cette fonctionnalité est plus orienté poste de travail virtualisé au travers de Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Cette dernière permet en effet de virtualiser la puce graphique (GPU) afin d'offrir la même expérience utilisateur en terme de rendu graphique. Ainsi l'accélération 3D sera possible pour les machines virtuelles clientes qui pourront par exemple bénéficier d'Aero.

[Service Pack 1] Windows 7 & Windows 2008 R2

Microsoft published yesterday for the MSDN/TechNet subscribers the service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2.

The main new features are:

• Dynamic memory: related to Hyper-V R2. It's now possible to dynamically allow memory to a virtual machine without shutting down the guest machine.
• RemoteFX: related to the desktop virtualization through Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). It's now possible to virtualize the Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) in order to offer the same end user 3D experience. For example the user could now use Aero on the virtualized desktop.
